ANKARA
Borussia Dortmund barely snatched a 2-2 draw against Stuttgart in the last minutes of Bundesliga's matchday 5 game played at Signal Iduna Park.
In the 33rd minute of play on Wednesday night, Borussia Dortmund's 25-year-old attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa tried to chip the ball over the Stuttgart goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, but hit the crossbar.
It seemed that home team Borussia Dortmund played in a disorganized way, both in defense and offense, as they lacked many important regulars due to injuries, such as Marco Reus, Jakub Blaszczykowski, Ilkay Gundogan, Nuri Sahin and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
In the 48th minute of the second half, Stuttgart's Daniel Didavi scored a surprise goal after receiving a pass from the byline and taking a decisive close-range shot.
Stuttgart took the lead, 1-0.
With assistance from Timo Werner, Didavi scored an easy second goal in the 68th minute after Dortmund left-back Marcel Schmelzer failed to take possession of the ball.
In the 73rd minute, Dortmund narrowed the gap to one when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang skipped past Stuttgart defender Daniel Schwaab and then goalkeeper Ulreich, after receiving the ball from his Polish teammate Lukasz Piszczek; 2-1.
In the game's 86th minute, 'Die Schwarzgelben' (The Black and Yellows) finally equalized after their Italian forward Ciro Immobile tapped into the far post, 2-2.
Schmelzer whipped the cross from a free kick, while Immobile put the ball in the back of the net calmly after Stuttgart goalkeeper Ulreich failed to punch it away.
In the remaining time, Dortmund pressurized Stuttgart's half to score the winning goal.
However, the match ended as a draw.
