He receives 16,464 of 26,947 valid votes against other candidate Aziz Yildirim

ISTANBUL

Ali Koc, a well-known Turkish businessman, was reelected Fenerbahce’s president for a third term on Sunday. 

Koc, 57, defeated another candidate Aziz Yildirim, receiving 16,464 of 26,947 valid votes.

The 71-year-old Yildirim, who ran the club for 20 years between 1998 and 2018 has gained 10,483 of the votes.

The Turkish Super Lig title has evaded Fenerbahce for about a decade, while their latest top-division title was in 2014.

Fenerbahce finished the 2023-24 Turkish Super Lig season as runners-up with 99 points, three points behind champions Galatasaray.

Following a disappointing season, Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho replaced Ismail Kartal, who joined the Istanbul club last year.
