Advertising is the biggest challenge facing media organizations as they make the switch from print to digital, Yilmaz Yaman, acting deputy general director of The Anadolu Agency, told the Webit Global Congress.
Speaking on "the Metrix and Data Stream" panel in Istanbul on Wednesday, Yilman said: "The outlook for advertisers in online media is not as good as it is for print media. There is no online paper in Turkey that makes money out of it."
The Anadolu Agency aims to transform and produce online projects for its clients.
More than 10,000 attendees from 110 countries are expected to participate in the congress, which brings together the world's digital and tech leaders, including executives from Apple, PayPal and Google.
The two-day event connects industry figures with global and regional advertisers, agencies and publishers as well as marketing tech providers.
