BAGHDAD

At least 25 people were killed and 78 injured in eight explosions that rocked different parts of Iraqi capital Baghdad early Monday.
According to an Interior Ministry source, four people were killed and 18 injured when a car bomb exploded on central Baghdad's Al-Hadi Street.
The same source said that another car bomb had exploded next to an educational center in southern Baghdad, leaving three people dead and eight injured.
A third explosive-laden car exploded near a traffic department in eastern Baghdad, killing six and injuring 17, the source added.
The source went on to say two more people had been killed and five injured when an explosive device went off in central Baghdad.
Another explosion in central Baghdad, he added, had claimed the lives of four people and injured 16, while a sixth explosion in western Baghdad had killed one and injured five others.
Two car bombs also went off in central Baghdad, the source said, killing five and injuring nine.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for Monday's string of attacks.
Recent months have witnessed an uptick in violence across Iraq. Although most such attacks go unclaimed, Iraqi authorities usually point the finger at Al-Qaeda-linked militants.
