Kuwait on Thursday condemned Iranian attacks targeting oil refineries in Saudi Arabia, warning that such actions threaten regional security and stability.

A Foreign Ministry statement denounced strikes on an oil refinery south of Riyadh and the Aramco-ExxonMobil (SAMREF) refinery in the Red Sea port of Yanbu, calling it a “flagrant violation” of international law and principles of good neighborliness.

The ministry said the attacks represent “a direct threat to regional security and stability” and constitute “a clear breach of UN Security Council Resolution 2817.”

It affirmed Kuwait’s rejection of “hostile actions by Iran,” saying they have contributed to escalating tensions and undermining stability across the region.

The ministry stressed the need to refrain from attacking civilian infrastructure and energy facilities, warning that such strikes pose serious risks to states and the safety of their populations.

The Gulf state reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, voicing support for measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and critical infrastructure.

Earlier on Thursday, the Saudi Defense Ministry said that a drone fell at the SAMREF refinery in Yanbu, adding that damage is currently under assessment.

The attack came as the US and Israel have continued a joint offensive on Iran since Feb. 28, killing so far over 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
