Israeli premier claims to destroy Iran’s missile capabilities
Benjamin Netanyahu alleges that Tehran’s military capabilities have sustained significant damage after 20 days of fighting
JERUSALEM
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Thursday evening to have destroyed Iran’s missile capabilities, as Tel Aviv continued a joint offensive with the United States against Tehran.
“We are winning, and Iran is being decimated,” Netanyahu told a press conference, as cited by the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
He said that after 20 days of fighting, Tehran’s military capabilities have sustained significant damage.
“I can announce to you that Iran has no ability to enrich uranium and has no ability to produce ballistic missiles,” he alleged.
Despite Netanyahu’s claim, Iran fired a barrage of 11 missiles at several areas in Israel, as fighting between the two regional foes continued to intensify.
Israel and the US have continued a joint offensive against Iran on Feb. 28, killing so far around 1,300 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
