Iranian media reports new US-Israeli strike near Bushehr nuclear power plant
IRNA says projectile hit near key nuclear facility amid ongoing hostilities
ISTANBUL
A new US-Israeli strike hit near Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant on Tuesday evening, the state news agency IRNA reported.
IRNA, citing Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, said a projectile struck the area of the nuclear facility in the southern city of Bushehr at around 9:08 p.m (17:38 GMT).
The agency described the attack as part of continued “hostile actions” by the US and Israel.
Initial reports said that no casualties or damage was reported, and all sections of the nuclear facility remain intact.
The attack was in the second near the nuclear facility in recent days. A similar attack took place on March 17, without causing any damage or injuries.
The US and Israel have maintained airstrikes on Iran since Feb. 28, killing so far over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
