ISTANBUL (AA) - Bahrain said Thursday that a facility in the Maameer area south of the capital Manama was targeted, after warning sirens were sounded across the country amid escalating regional tensions.
The Interior Ministry, citing Bahrain state television, said a facility in the Maameer area was targeted, adding that relevant authorities are following up on the incident, without providing further details.
Earlier, the ministry announced that warning sirens had been activated across the country, urging citizens and residents to head to the nearest safe location.
No casualties were reported immediately following the attack.
Iran has launched missiles and drones toward Israel and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets since Feb. 28. Some of the attacks have caused casualties and damage to civilian sites, including ports and residential buildings.
Tehran says the attacks came in response to a US-Israeli military campaign against Iran that has killed hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and top military officials.
