ISTANBUL
Five civilians were killed and seven injured in a US-Israeli airstrike on northwestern Zanjan province, an Iranian official said Saturday.
The Fars News Agency reported that Zanjan Deputy Governor Ali Sadeghi said the deaths occurred when a residential building was targeted in an airstrike.
He added that the injured were transferred to hospitals.
Iran has retaliated to US and Israeli attacks on its territory with waves of drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, inflicting casualties and infrastructure damage, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
