University of Science and Technology targeted in Iran: Report

ISTANBUL

The University of Science and Technology in Tehran was targeted in US-Israel attacks, Iranian media reported Saturday.

The Mehr News Agency reported that the school was struck during attacks.

There has been no official statement on casualties or damage.

The Israeli army announced earlier that it launched a new wave of attacks on Tehran as part of joint operations with the United States.

Saeed Shemkadri, a faculty member in the electrical engineering department of the university, was killed when his home was targeted in US-Israel attacks March 23.

For nearly a month, the US and Israel have carried out an air offensive against Iran, killing more than 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damaging infrastructure, while disrupting global markets and aviation.
