Russia rejects involvement in drone hovering over Danish regions, calling it 'absurd speculation'
Russian Embassy in Denmark describes situation as 'staged provocation,' adding, 'The Russian side categorically rejects absurd speculations concerning incidents'

MOSCOW
The Russian Embassy in Copenhagen on Thursday rejected accusations of Russia's involvement in a drone hovering over various regions in Denmark, calling them "absurd speculations" that prompted authorities to temporarily close airports.
On Telegram, the diplomatic mission described the situation as a "staged provocation," adding, "The Russian side categorically rejects absurd speculations concerning incidents."
The incidents, reported late Wednesday, involved drones at Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sonderborg, Skrydstrup Air Base, and briefly at Billund Airport, prompting temporary airspace closures.
Copenhagen Airport was temporarily closed on Tuesday due to a drone attack, and at least 31 flights were redirected as a result of the air raid, the Danish police said, adding that they did not know who controlled the unmanned aerial vehicles.
A similar incident occurred earlier in the day at the Aalborg Airport in Denmark, which had temporarily shut down and rerouted three flights to other airports because of unidentified drones.
Meanwhile, Denmark's Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said Thursday that drone incidents that forced the closure of Aalborg Airport and affected several other airports in the country appear to be "professional and systematic," likely part of a hybrid attack, but posed no immediate military threat.
