Saipem has been awarded a new offshore contract worth approximately $425 million by Turkish Petroleum Offshore Technology Center (TP-OTC) for additional activities under the extension of the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea, the company said on Friday, Jan. 2.
The scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of three additional subsea pipelines with a total length of around 153 kilometers, as well as related subsea structures.
The pipelines will connect the newly discovered natural gas reserves at the Goktepe field to the Sakarya Phase 3 facilities.
Goktepe field is located at a water depth of about 2,200 meters and approximately 80 kilometers from the Sakarya Phase 3 field. The new infrastructure is expected to enable increased production as part of the overall field development.
The contract, which has a duration of around two and a half years, will be managed in continuity with the agreement signed in September 2025 for the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development.
Offshore installation campaign is planned to be carried out by Saipem’s Castorone pipelay vessel in the second half of 2027.
Saipem said the new contract further confirms its position as a strategic partner in major projects in Türkiye and contributes to the sustainable development of the Turkish energy market.
