Turkish, Norwegian defense firms to establish ammunition filling facility for Denmark
Repkon, Nammo ink deal to restart Denmark’s national ammunition production as part of Nordic Defense Cooperation collaborative initiative

ANKARA
Turkish defense company Repkon will establish a 155-milimeter artillery ammunition filling facility to strengthen the defense of Scandinavian countries in a new deal with Norwegian defense firm Nammo.
The Nordic Defense Cooperation (NORDEFCO), made up of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, is in search of facilitating efficient joint solutions via a series of initiatives to strengthen the national defense of Scandinavian countries.
The Danish government signed a deal with Nammo as a part of those efforts to restart its national ammunition production at the Elling plant and Nammo signed a contract with Repkon.
Repkon signed to establish a complete facility to fill TNT, IMX-101, and IMX-104 explosive materials into 155-milimeter artillery ammunition, while filling other modern, highly destructive and next-generation explosives.
The facility will operate with a small workforce and maximum automation.
Repkon is one of the few prominent companies in the artillery filling industry with contracts with the US, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Pakistan and Azerbaijan, where the firm established lines for ammunition production.
It acquired defense firm Bowas, which operates in Austria, Italy and Switzerland, due to its expertise in the design, production and installation of equipment for explosive and raw materials.
Bowas’ expertise in military explosives strengthened Repkon’s capabilities to meet the growing demands of its customers over the years.
Nammo, headquartered in Norway, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of specialized ammunition, shoulder-fired weapons and rocket engines, with a workforce of 3,700 employees, 27 production plants and operations in 11 countries.
