ISTANBUL (AA) - September 11, 2012 - Turkey's current accounts deficit was down to 34.4 billion USD in the first seven months of 2012.
The Central Bank of Turkey made public on Tuesday balance of payments figures for the first seven months of 2012.
The bank said the current accounts deficit was down 15.7 billion USD to 34.4 billion USD year-on-year in January-July 2012.
"This development is mainly attributable to USD 13,547 million decrease in foreign trade deficit recording USD 40,885 million and USD 1,216 million increase in net services income reaching to USD 9,724 million, as well as USD 1,038 million decrease in net income outflows recording USD 4,032 million," the bank said.
It said, "Under services account, the travel revenues and expenditures decreased by USD 88 million and USD 678 million compared to the same period of the previous year, recording USD 11,480 million and USD 2,252 million respectively."
