ANKARA
Ictas Construction Industry and Commerce Corporation-Astaldi joint venture group won the bid for the "Northern Marmara Highway Project", which includes the construction of the third bridge over Istanbul Strait, Turkish Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim said on Tuesday.
In a press conference held on Tuesday, Minister Yildirim said that Ictas-Astaldi consortium won the bid for the highway project with an assurance that the management of the project, including construction, would be completed in 10 years, 2 months and 20 days.
The project will cost around 4.5 billion Turkish liras. The third bridge will begin serving Istanbul residents as of the end of 2015, Yildirim stated.
Cengiz Construction-Kolin Construction-Limak Construction-Makyol Construction-Kalyon Construction joint venture's offer for the management of the project consisted of 14 years, 9 months and 19 days, Yildirim also said.
Five companies had submitted bids for the tender of the "Northern Marmara Highway Project" on April 20.
