ANKARA
Turkish economy minister said on Wednesday that foreign direct investments that have come to Turkey in the past eight years reached 110.5 billion US dollars.
Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan met with Kosovo's Deputy Premier and Industry and Trade Minister Mimoza Kusari Lila in Ankara.
Caglayan said that there were deep-rooted and sound relations between Turkey and Kosovo.
Caglayan said they encouraged Turkish companies to make investment in Kosovo.
Turkish companies' investments in the world reached 15 billion US dollars and 1.1 billion USD of this amount was made in Kosovo, he said.
Trade volume between the two countries should be boosted, he said.
Turkish and Kosovar companies should also make business together in the third countries, he said.
Lila said that they appreciated Turkey's assistance to Kosovo, stating that Kosovo needed Turkey's experiences on economy.
Turkey was of great importance for Kosovo, she said, adding that they wanted to sign free trade agreement and double taxation prevention treaty with Turkey.
Later Caglayan and Lila signed a cooperation agreement on mutual investments.
