Turkish national air carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) cancelled 68 flights due to "operational reasons" on Wednesday.

At least 68 domestic and international flights have been cancelled due to operational reasons at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport, the company said in a statement posted on its website.
The statement said passengers should check their flight online on its website before coming to the airport.
THY workers began strike on Tuesday following a call from the Turkish Civil Aviation union. The union requested from its members to organize protest over a legislative attempt to revoke aviation worker's right to strike by slowing down the operations at their workplace.
THY had postponed more than 120 flights on Tuesday, that caused passengers stranded at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
Headquartered in Istanbul, THY operates scheduled services to 150 international and 41 domestic cities (38 domestic airports), serving a total of 187 airports, in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
The airline increased its sales revenue by 40% in 2011, compared to 2010, and recorded operating profit of 339 million TL (185.04 million USD). Net profit came in at 19 million TL (10.3 million USD).
