In total, 24 cyber-attacks have been carried out against Anadolu Agency since January 1, 2014, said Turkish Deputy PM Bulent Arinc on Friday.
Responding to parliamentary questions over cyber-attacks against governmental institutions under the responsibility of Arinc's office, the deputy PM said the cyber-attacks targeting AA had generally orginated from the United States, Canada and China.
AA was namely the target of cyber-attacks by hacker groups, Red Hack and Anonymous, during Turkey’s municipal election night last March, of which the results were directly broadcast by AA, from polling stations for the first time in the agency’s history.
Arinc also stressed that AA has strengthened its internet security infrastructure since the beginning of the year.
