BRUSSELS
Belgian newspaper La Libre Belgique on Friday reported on Anadolu Agency’s ‘Centennial Vision’.
As part of its centennial vision, AA plans to broadcast in 11 languages by 2020. The agency currently broadcasts in Turkish, Arabic, English, Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian, Russian, Kurdish, and French.
The newspaper mentioned that AA’s goal in the Centennial Vision was becoming one of the "five most influential news agencies of the world" by 2020 with the other important international news agencies and channels such as Associated Press (AP), Agence France Presse (AFP), Reuters and CNN.
“Turkey wants to be visible in the world and Turkish government invests in this direction,” the article said.
The La Libre Belgique stressed that AA becomes an element of Turkey’s foreign policy through Turkish Prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s efforts.
AA opened at least 10 foreign offices in recent years and AA’s Brussels office became the center of the AA’s Europe bureaus, the newspaper also wrote.
AA and its 2,280 employees are already a well-established global news agency offering newswires in seven languages with operations spreading across major regions around the globe, including the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Asia-Pacific, and serves business customers in more than 100 countries and is the first place creative and media professionals turn to discover, purchase and manage images and other digital content.
