NEW DELHI
A Canadian man was arrested at New Delhi International Airport for carrying a crocodile skull, authorities said Thursday.
Customs authorities at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport said that during a security check, a Canadian passenger departing for Canada was intercepted and “a baby crocodile skull with sharp teeth” was recovered.
The skull belongs to a species protected under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, the customs said in a statement.
It said the 32-year-old man was arrested on Monday for illegal possession and attempt to export a Schedule-I protected wildlife item.
