TURKISH AIRLINES TO FLY TO UGANDA AND TANZANIA
ANKARA - Turkish Airlines (THY) will fly to Uganda
and Tanzania.
Turkey's Directorate-General of Civil Aviation said that THY would begin scheduled flights on June 13 to the Entebbe Airport of Uganda and from the Entebbe Airport to the Darussalam Airport of Tanzania under the bilateral air services agreements aiming to broad the THY's flight network.
The Istanbul-Entebbe-Darusalam flights will take place on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Meanwhile, THY will also begin scheduled flights to the Egyptian city of Alexandria on June 7. The flights will be scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Turkey's Ministry of Transportation signed bilateral air services agreements with ten African countries last year. After beginning of flights to Entebbe, Darussalam and Alexandria, number of THY's destinations in the African continent will increase to 14.
Based in Istanbul, THY is one of the fastest growing and prosperous airlines in the world. It carries approximately 25 million passengers a year, with direct flights to more than 120 international and 37 domestic destinations.
The airline was founded in 1933 with a fleet of five airplanes that carried a total of 28 passengers. The airline made its first domestic flight in 1933 and the first international flight in 1947.
