Trump administration moves to unseal Epstein grand jury testimony
Justice Department argues release is justified as 'a matter of public interest,' according to CNN

WASHINGTON
The Trump administration has asked a federal judge to unseal years-old grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein, several media outlets reported Friday.
CNN reported, citing a court filing, that the Justice Department argued the release is justified as “a matter of public interest.”
“The public’s interest in the Epstein matter has remained. Given this longstanding and legitimate interest, the government now moves to unseal grand jury transcripts associated with Epstein,” the filing reportedly said.
It follows President Donald Trump’s announcement Thursday that he directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to release Grand Jury testimony related to the government investigation into disgraced financier.
The announcement came within hours of The Wall Street Journal releasing a bombshell report that has deepened the intrigue surrounding Trump and his connections to Epstein after the Justice Department announced last week that it determined Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and claimed he had no "client list."
The announcement has sparked discontent within Trump's MAGA movement, with prominent voices demanding the release of all government documents related to Epstein. Trump's announcement seems to stop short of those demands.
