ALGIERS
A military aircraft crashed late Wednesday night in Algeria’s western Oran province, killing the pilot, according to local media reports.
Algerian daily Echorouk reported that the plane had crashed while carrying out nighttime training exercises in Oran’s Sidi Ghalem Mountain region.
As of Thursday morning, Algeria’s Defense Ministry had yet to comment on the incident.
Last month, an Algerian military aircraft crashed in the country’s western Tiaret province, killing both of its two-man crew.
