YEREVAN
Raffi Hovhannisyan, leader of Heritage Party of Armenia who got 36.7 percent of the votes and was the first runner-up in the presidential election on February 18, went on a hunger strike for an indefinite period of time.
Hovhannisyan stated that they refused to recognize the results of the election and would continue his hunger strike at the Yerevan Independence Square until Serzh Sargsyan acknowledges "the victory of the people."
Reminding that the presidential oath was set to take place on April 9, Hovhannisyan said, "Sargsyan can take the presidential oath over my dead body."
Also warning the religious leader of Armenia, Hovhannisyan stated that the acknowledgement of Sargsyan as president would mean insulting the Bible.
