CAIRO
Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) SG Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has offered mediation in Iraq in order to overcome political conflict.
Ihsanoglu said in a written statement that what had been happening in Iraq was due to political conflict and demands should be expressed via democratic and peaceful means.
Noting that he was hopeful on enabling security and stability in Iraq, Ihsanoglu said religion and sect based arguments should be kept separate from the political conflicts. He added OIC was ready to undertake a mediator role if it was demanded.
