Here’s a rundown of all the news you need to start your Tuesday, including the latest in US-China relations, Russia ready for "peaceful solution" to Ukraine war, and revival of diplomatic missions between Saudi Arabia and Iran.

TOP STORIES

China's "aggression" towards the US military in Taiwan strait and South China Sea is growing, the White House has warned.

National Security spokesman John Kirby said there was no need for the Chinese military to "act as aggressively as they did.”

He cited two incidents, i.e. a Chinese J-16 fighter jet carrying an "unnecessarily aggressive maneuver" over the South China Sea in May, and a Chinese warship engaging in an "unsafe maritime interaction" by crossing directly in front of an American vessel in Taiwan Strait.

Moscow said it welcomes efforts aimed at finding a “peaceful solution” to Ukraine war by any country.

The remarks by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko came in response to Indonesia floating a peace plan that calls for an immediate cease-fire, and creation of a UN-monitored demilitarized zone.

After a seven-year hiatus, Iran is set to reopen its embassy in the Saudi capital Riyadh and its consulate in Jeddah on Tuesday and Wednesday, as the two countries recently restored diplomatic ties.

The announcement was made by Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani, who said the missions are already active in facilitating procedures for Iranian pilgrims, and now the offices will formally reopen.
