ZAGREB (AA) – The Croatian Association of Employers (HUP) presented to the public its recommendations on how to end the economic crisis in Croatia, AA reports.
The employers are warning the government that, if urgent measures are not taken, the country might collapse soon.
Ivica Mudrinic from the Association explained that they are proposing 13 steps for reforms. If implemented, they claim, these measures could change the negative economic growth, which has persisted in Croatia for the fifth year in a row and is accompanied with the rise of unemployment and low standards of living.
Mudrinic expressed his preoccupation with the fact that Croatia does not have a clear strategy and plan to create conditions for investments.
"The private sector does not create conditions for investments, and without that we have no new places for work,“ Mudrinic said.
The HUP proposes various measures including those on fiscal consolidation, the reform of the public administration, local administrations and self administration, tax decreases, and the removal of investment and business barriers.
The HUP explained that the proposed measures target the benefit of the entire society.
