Seven people, including six children, were killed and seven others injured, in a barrage of rockets fired from Syria into the eastern Lebanese town of Arsal, the Lebanese Red Cross said.
George Katana, Director of the Red Cross operations in Lebanon, said six children, aged between four and eight years, were killed in the attack.
The children were playing in a courtyard when the rockets hit the town.
But paramedic Baleegh al-Hujairi said the corpses of seven children were moved to hospital.
Six people were also seriously injured in the attack, he added.
The Lebanese army said that 20 rockets and shells were fired from Syria into border Lebanese towns.
In a statement, the army said that the attack caused damage in the area.
Arsal is home to around 50,000 Syrian refugees.
