Turkish Red Crescent helped 341,512 people who suffered from last year's earthquakes, floods, fires, landslides and other disasters across Turkey.
Chairman of the Turkish Red Crescent Aid Society, Ahmet Lutfi Akar told AA that they offered services for nearly 170,000 people in camps near the Syria border which were organized by Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD).
Akar said, they held food and accommodation services in tent and container cities and added, "We are in Bangladesh, Somalia, Gaza and Krygzstan. It is not all about it. We also fight against disasters in Turkey. We responded more than 130 disasters last year. 365 days a year, we are on the sides of needed ones."
He noted, teams who responded to earthquakes, floods, fires, heavy snow falls, landslides and other disasters in 2012 helped 341,512 people.
Responding to 4 earthquakes last year, teams provided 297,135 disaster victims with emergency accommodation and food services.
