ANKARA (AA) - The Anadolu Agency does not verify these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
Turkish dailies widely cover Istanbul Court's releasing the opposition lawmaker detained under the Ergenekon case, release of detained Turkish journalist Metin Turan in Egypt, and UEFA Champions League group qualifier between Galatasaray and Juventus.
Almost all Turkish dailies report on their front pages the release of CHP lawmaker Mustafa Balbay after a long detention on charges of coup plot under Ergenekon case.
Istanbul High Criminal Court no: 13 on Monday gave the ruling for the release of journalist and Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Mustafa Balbay, in jail since March 6, 2009 as he was sentenced to 34 years as part of Ergenekon case.
Daily HABERTURK headlines "He is out after 4 years and 278 days," adding that Balbay is expected to take his oath at the Turkish Parliament.
The daily also includes Ergenekon case judges' description of the Turkish Constitutional Court ruling as a "case law in terms of the right to stand for election."
Daily STAR says "Release verdict for Balbay: free after 4 years and 9 months," pointing out the release as a "Friut of 2010 referendum," as the 2010 Referendum granted the right of personal access to courts, although Balbay's party CHP then campaigned for "no" votes to be casted in the referendum.
"It is not the time for hatred" is the headline of daily YENISAFAK as it quotes Balbay's remarks right after he was released and met his family outside the jail.
- Release of detained TRT journalist Metin Turan in Egypt -
Egyptian authorities on Monday released Turkish journalist Metin Turan of Turkey's state broadcaster TRT after a court ordered his release – along with 83 other defendants – pending investigation into deadly clashes in mid-August in Cairo's Ramses Square.
Daily BUGUN writes "Turan free after 115 days" adding that the Turkish correspondent was released at the first hearing of the trial of 84 defendants.
Daily YENISAFAK publishes "Turan is free" citing Turan upon his release as saying "I went to do a news report and ended up becoming the subject of reports myself."
- Galatasaray-Juventus clash in UEFA Champions League group stage -
Dailies also covered the last group match that Turkey's Galatasaray will play on Tuesday night in Group B against Italy's Juventus for the next stage.
The statistics showing Galatasaray's record to be undefeated in home games against Italian teams since 1963 is what HABERTURK carries to its frontpage, saying "Undefeated for 50 years."
Daily STAR publishes "Only choice: Triumph" saying the Lions will fight against Italy's Juve to determine their fate in the "League of Giants" so as to qualify for the second round.
Daily YENISAFAK says "Make or break" as it noted that Galatasaray need an absolute victory over Juventus to carry on their journey in the Champions League.
