ANKARA
Turkey's deputy prime minister defined on Tuesday Anadolu Agency's (AA) broadcast in Arabic as important.
Bulent Arinc said that the Turkish government was attaching importance to broadcast in Arabic as incidents that had occurred in the Middle East for years had been reflected with a perspective that was not in line with the spirit and values of the region.
"We all witnessed grave manipulations that astonished us in the Middle Eastern geography, particularly during the Gulf War. High-prestige brands, we all know, were the pioneers of operations with their broadcasts," Arinc said on Twitter.
Arinc's remarks came after AA has launched test Arabic broadcasts.
Minister Arinc said the world had witnessed manipulations not only in the Middle East but also Bosnia and Herezgovina, and the media had remained indifferent to grave incidents for a long time.
"Therefore, not only our region but also the entire world needs independent, objective and reliable news," Arinc said.
Deputy Prime Minister Arinc said AA would continue to broadcast independent, objective and reliable news as it had done so far, and expressed belief that AA would add a new success with Arabic broadcast to its achievements in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia.
Arinc said that AA had launched broadcasts in Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian in March, and successful journalists of both the Arab media and Turkey had come together for the Arabic bulletin to be based in Egypt.
Bulent Arinc said representations had been set up in Arab and African countries, and reporters had already begun field studies.
Arinc also said that AA had now been broadcasting in three foreign languages including English, Bosnian, and Arabic.
