ANKARA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has said that Nicos Anastasiades, newly elected leader of Greek Cypriot administration, had voted 'yes' in Kofi Annan's Cyprus plan referendum, which Davutoglu defined as a psychological advantage in solution process in Cyprus.
Davutoglu responded questions about issues on the agenda on private Turkish news channel NTV.
Davutoglu said that Turkey had never neglected Cyprus, and kept abreast of Cyprus issue.
"That is the time that Greek Cypriots should behave more ethically and realistically. Greek government has a will to make significant progress in Cyprus issue, and to work together," said Davutoglu.
Davutoglu said that he had talked to the UN secretary general, telling him that Turkey and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus were always ready to start all over for resolution of Cyprus issue.
"Anastasiades has maneuver skills to take steps on basis of public opinion of Greek Cypriots, and Turkey will assess the process according to further steps of Anastasiades," said Davutoglu.
Davutoglu also answered questions about his meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry and said that he had talked to Kerry about relations between Turkey and Israel.
"Turkey has not shown any biased attitude towards any nation or government throughout its history, and Turkey exerts the utmost effort for a two-state solution for Palestine issue," said Davutoglu.
"We have not seen any concrete steps from Israel in last three years. Israel wants to rectify relations with Turkey; however, Israel knows what to do to normalize our relations," said Davutoglu.
Davutoglu responded to questions also about the solution process for Kurdish issue.
Davutoglu pointed that a problem either in Middle East or Balkans or somewhere else, Turkey was a country to be applied for the solution for refuge and said, "Such a cure-all regarded country, should be confident of herself and heal her own domestic wounds".
Davutoglu stated that delay of that solution would enable any local trauma to affect its abroad and vice versa and added, "In this mobility situation in the region, some may desire to expand the mobility as a threat to us. Some may think that Turkey has gained too much power and would like to prevent it or would try to create polarization between Turkey and its neighbours".
Stating that nations become nations after they overcome their own problems, Davutoglu told, "What is vital is to make a decision at a crucial point, not to portray a confusion".
