MALATYA
The Deputy Undersecretary of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Mehmet Gucuk said on Friday that the NATO radar system erected at the Kurecik town of south-eastern province of Malatya was intended for "defense purposes only".
Speaking to reporters in Malatya, Gucuk said that the NATO defense system did not target any country.
Any country unwilling to fire missiles against Turkey needs not be concerned about this defense system, Gucuk indicated.
Ambassador Gucuk's comments came after Iran and Russia reacted against the NATO defense system in Malatya recently.
On Africa, Gucuk said that there will remain no country in the continent of Africa in which there is no Turkish representation soon.
