ANKARA
Hasan Cemil, the son of Abdul Quader Mollah the executed leader of Jamaat-i Islami in Bangladesh, said that the last wish of Mollah was to be buried wearing his ihram which he wore in umrah and his funeral prayer to be performed by one of his sons.
Stating that he heard the execution of Mollah on media, Cemil said that they could not fulfill his bidding. "Our father wanted us to bury him wearing his ihram which he wore in umrah and his funeral prayer to be performed by one of his sons, but we could not do it," said Cemil.
Speaking to Anadolu Agency correspondent on phone, Cemil said that he, his brothers and uncle were detained when Mollah was executed and although they were released later on, police did not let them go to burial of Mollah.
Stating that they keep their patience, Cemil said that the government tries to stop the strenghtening of Islam in Bangladesh but they will not be able to stop the development of Islam in the country.
Cemil said that Abdul Quader Mollah was a significant figure and the government was scared of him so they executed Mollah.
"We know that the process working toward the execution of our father was absolutely wrong. Our father was martyred, we also want to be martyred. There are thousands who want to walk in Mollah's path. Mollah will be the spiritual leader of the movement and our challenge will decisively continue to establish Islam in the country," said Cemil.
