The Islamic world should aim to find solutions in the Middle East, was the declaration of the "Istanbul Talks" symposium on Tuesday in Istanbul.
The symposium saw representatives, academicians, journalists, writers and opinion leaders from 32 countries including the United States, Germany, Lebanon, Iran and Turkey take part in the talks organised with the Civilian Solidarity Platform (SDP), a Turkish non-governmental organization and Pendik Municipality in Istanbul.
Under discussions on the global policy crisis and future of the Middle East, Erol Kaya, AK Party Istanbul Deputy stated that "the middle east region was a very sensitive place" given that 86 per cent of the energy sources in the world exist there.
Ali El-Hag, member of the Sudan People's Committee, also underlined the importance of Turkey's role in the region. "Taking place in the latest developments in the world has become Turkey's destiny," El-Hag told.
