ISTANBUL
Turkish premier football league side Fenerbahce has withdrawn an appeal to seek compensation from UEFA and the country's football governing body after being barred from the European Champions League due to a match-fixing scandal in Turkey.
In a regulatory filing to the Istanbul Stock's Exchange on Thursday Fenerbahce said it would not challenge UEFA and Turkish Football Federation at The Court of Arbitration for Sport for a compensation of $59 million for its losses in UEFA prize money and commercial revenues.
The TFF barred Fenerbahce last August from competing in the Champions League over the match-fixing scandal.
The club's chairman, Aziz Yildirim, is jailed in an ongoing criminal trial.
