ESKISEHIR
Turkey's central Anatolian city of Eskisehir has become a sister city of Austria's Linz on Thursday.
A signature ceremony took place at the Municipality of Eskisehir and the protocol making the two cities "sister cities" was signed by Mayor of Eskisehir Yilmaz Buyukersen and Mayor of Linz Franz Dobusch.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Buyukersen said that the two cities had ties going back many years in history.
Austria is important for Turkey based on historic ties, economic and cultural relations, Buyukersen indicated.
We want the friendship between Eskisehir and Linz to continue forever in all possible areas, Buyukersen also said.
Franz Dobusch, in his part, said that he was highly pleased to see Eskisehir and Linz as sister cities.
I have been impressed by Eskisehir. Eskisehir is a highly social city. There are many things we can learn from each other, Dobusch noted.
