ANKARA
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Tuesday said that they viewed Crimea as a door for entry into Eurasia.
Davutoglu met with Prime Minister of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Anatoliy Mogilov, and an accompanying delegation at the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Speaking to reporters while meeting Mogilov, Davutoglu stressed that Crimea was a door for entry into the Eurasia.
"We jointly look at the future in peace and hope," Davutoglu stressed.
Turkey and Crimea share a strong bond coming from history. With Mogilov's current visit, relations will get stronger, Davutoglu noted.
Every time I visit Crimea, I am welcomed warmly by the people of Crimea, Davutoglu indicated.
There have always been bridges of friendship between Turkey and Crimean Tatars, Davutoglu underlined.
"Our friendly relations will get stronger in the future. Turkey and Ukraine signed a visa liberalization agreement and began talks for a free trade agreement. Crimea is a door opening to Eurasia. We look at the future in peace and hope. All ethnic groups in Ukraine and Crimea are preparing for a successful future in peace," Davutoglu stated.
Mogilov, in his part, said that relations between Turkey and Crimea reached a pleasing point lately.
Trade volume between Turkey and Crimea increased 30 percent in 2011, Mogilov also said.
