Five terrorists were killed in Tatvan town of the eastern province of Bitlis on Tuesday.
In a clash that took place during a routine search operation in rural areas of Tatvan, Turkish security forces killed five terrorists.
Two of the terrorists were females.
The Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, is a terrorist organization which has since 1984 been fighting an armed struggle against the Turkish state for an independent Kurdistan. PKK killed around 30,000 Turkish soldiers, policemen, village guards, teachers, engineers and other Turkish citizens in the past 28 years.
PKK is listed as a terrorist organization internationally by a number of states and organizations, including the United States and the European Union.
2 terrorists killed in Siirt
Turkish soldiers killed two terrorists in southeastern province of Siirt, governor said on Monday.
A statement by Siirt Governor Musa Colak said that gendarme forces killed two terrorists in a clash in the province on May 7.
Operations were under way in the region, the governor said.
