ANKARA
Matchday two in the UEFA Euro 2016 qualification stages drew to a close on Saturday night.
Eight matches in total were played in groups D, F and I.
In Group D, Poland stunned the reigning 2014 FIFA World Cup champions Germany by winning 2-0 at the National Stadium Warsaw.
The two goalscorers for the victorious side were Ajax forward Arkadiusz Milik and Slask midfielder Sebastian Mila. Polish-born German international Lukas Podolski also played in the match.
Meanwhile the Republic of Ireland crushed their opponents Gibraltar with an impressive 7-0 score at the Dublin Arena. 34-year-old Irish forward Robbie Keane scored a hat-trick in his country’s unforgettable triumph.
