Cristian Romero joins Tottenham from Atalanta

Cristian Romero has joined Tottenham from Atalanta, the English football club announced in a statement on Friday.

Romero, 23, was named as the "Best Defender" in Italian Serie A last season.

He joined Atalanta from Juventus on loan with the option to buy in 2020.

The Argentinian defender has one goal in five caps for his national team, and achieved one Copa America trophy with Argentina.

Tottenham finished 7th in the 2020-2021 season of the English Premier League with 62 points.
