Ukraine claims to have repelled 144 Russian attacks in battles
Kyiv reports heavy fighting across multiple frontlines
ISTANBUL
Ukrainian forces engaged in 144 clashes Tuesday with Russian troops, repelling multiple assaults across different frontlines, according to the Ukrainian military.
Kyiv said Russian forces launched two missile strikes, 72 airstrikes and used 1,024 kamikaze drones, along with 4,200 artillery attacks that targeted Ukrainian positions and settlements.
In the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian forces said they prevented Russian advances toward Mala Shapkivka and Topoli, while an airstrike hit Cherkaska Lozova.
Russian troops launched 16 attacks in the Kupiansk sector, with Ukrainian forces claiming to have repelled 14, while two battles continue.
A statement reported ongoing clashes in the Lyman, Siversk, Kramatorsk and Toretsk areas, where Ukrainian troops said they had withstood waves of Russian offensives.
The Pokrovsk region saw the highest number of assaults, with 43 reported attacks. Ukrainian forces claimed to have repelled 32 while 11 battles are still ongoing.
Fighting also continued in the Novopavlivka, Hulyaipole and Orikhiv sectors, with Ukrainian forces stating they successfully countered multiple Russian assaults.
