MOSCOW
Two people were killed and two others injured in the city of Syzran in Russia's Samara region in an overnight Ukraine's drone attack, the regional governor said.
Medical assistance is being provided to the injured, Vyacheslav Fedorosetsev said on Russian media platform Max.
"Unmanned aerial vehicles targeted industrial facilities. Enemy strikes were aimed at fuel-energy infrastructure facilities," he wrote.
The governor extended condolences to families and loved ones of the deceased. He said the regional government will provide all necessary support, including financial assistance.
In a separate statement, the Defense Ministry claimed Russian forces took under control the settlement of Nove Zaporizhzhia in Zaporizhzhia region.
Meanwhile, Kursk Governor Alexander Khinsteyn said Ukrainian forces attacked a station in Borovskiy microdistrict in the city of Rylsk, leaving approximately 3,000 residents without electricity.
Due to shelling, two boilers stopped functioning, Khinsteyn said, clarifying that preliminary information suggested no casualties.
Ukrainian commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrskyi confirmed the attack on the Kursk region, saying it was successful.
The Ukrainian authorities also reported striking targets in Crimea and Donetsk region.
Separately, the State Customs Service of Ukraine accused Russia of attacking a border point Orlivka on the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
Independent verification of claims of both sides is challenging due to the ongoing conflict.
