Sudan's foreign minister said Friday there was evidence weapons are smuggled from South Sudan bound for Sudan's People's Liberation Movement.
Mohammed Ali Ahmed Karti's remarks came after a meeting with South Sudan's President Salva Kiir Mayardit.
"We have some evidence that weapons are smuggled from South Sudan," said Karti, adding that they were transferred to Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) in the state of Kordofan.
"In addition to weapons, rebel groups are also coming in from South Sudan. Relations between two countries can be affected negatively unless our suspicions are allayed," Karti said.
After more than five decades of civil war between Sudan and South Sudan, the latter broke away from Sudan in July 2011 following a referendum.
South Sudan denies it supports Sudanese rebels.
