BOSTON
The second suspect in the deadly Boston Marathon bombings was arrested on Friday.
19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was arrested while he was in a boat near Watertown.
Tsarnaev's 26-year-old brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed by police officers in Boston a day before as he tried to escape.
Commenting on the arrest of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, US President Barack Obama stated that "the arrest closed an important page in the tragedy".
"We should not try to reach conclusions immediately on the motivations of the suspects or the group they are associated with. There are still many questions unanswered regarding the Boston bombings," Obama also said.
Police raid house of a Turkish resident
Police raided twice overnight house of a Turkish resident in Watertown.
"My house was raided twice last night. At around 1 in the morning, armed people entered into my house from the roof and I was scared because I didn't know they were police officers. And a couple of hours later police came and searched my house again," Arzu Eylul Yalcinkaya told the Anadolu Agency.
In a related development, Turkish interior minister has denied news reports appearing on American media that suspects travelled to the US from Turkey.
Muammer Guler said Tamerlan Tsarnaev holding a Kyrgyz passport and three other people with the same surname arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on July 9, 2003 and they left ten days later on July 19, 2003, adding that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the second suspect arrested, was not among the four visiting the country.
"It appears that they were visiting as a family. There is no indication that they have got anything to do with Turkey," Guler told reporters.
