Pakistan and Iran have agreed to jointly work to resolve the Yemen conflict, Pakistan’s national security and foreign affairs adviser Sartaj Aziz said Wednesday.
Addressing a joint press conference after talks in Islamabad, Aziz and Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said that Pakistan and Iran want an immediate end to the Yemen conflict.
"Pakistan and Iran have a common stance against terrorism," Aziz said. "Therefore, the two sides have agreed to work together against terrorism."
He also said that his country was committed to go ahead with the much-debated Pak-Iran gas pipeline project and other joint ventures.
Meanwhile, Zarif said he had discussed with his Pakistani counterpart, ways to bring peace to the region.
He added that the two sides have agreed to further strengthen security on the common border, adding that his country fully supports the reconciliation process in war-stricken Afghanistan.
