CAIRO
One policeman died Wednesday of wounds sustained in an explosion in the vicinity of the Daqahliya Security Directorate building in the Nile Delta, while two supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi also died in the early hours of Wednesday when a pro-Morsi march came under attack in north Cairo.
At least 19 people, including policemen, were wounded when an explosive charge went off near the directorate's security compound.
The Interior Ministry said the attack targeted the Mansoura Police Station, which is located on the first floor of the building.
Ahmed Meslimani, presidential media adviser, said the "terrorist" attack "would not undermine our determination. We defeated terrorism before. We will prevail."
Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Badie condemned the attack and all forms of violence.
"The Muslim Brotherhood denounces the Mansoura attack and the bloodshed," Ahmed Aref, the group's spokesman, told Anadolu.
"This is the doing of bloodthirsty criminals," he added.
Meanwhile, two supporters of Morsi, Egypt’s first democratically elected president, were killed and 30 injured when their march came under attack in the eastern Cairo neighborhood of Shubra.
Morsi supporters were marching to Rab'a al-Adaweya Square, where Morsi loyalists have camped out for more than three weeks to protest his ouster by the army, when unknown gunmen opened fire on them.
