ANKARA
Iran agreed to start addressing the controversy on its alleged construction of a nuclear bomb, however questions remain whether diplomatic settlements can be reached between Iran and the six world powers.
Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi said in a statement last week that plans to modify its Arak heavy water reactor would produce less plutonium in order to resolve Western concerns.
The top agenda items in the meeting with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will include the alleged explosive experiments in the nuclear plant in the Parchin region of Iran and the building of Fordo nuclear facility near the city of Qoms.
Calling on Iran to be transparent about its nuclear program, the IAEA is investigating allegations of Tehran government’s explosive experiments and attempt to acquire nuclear weapons.
While the West sees the negotiations between Iran and P5+1 countries to have peaceful aims, Iran sees the negotiations as an end to both the international sanctions and the economic crisis and a re-integration to the international system.
Iran will meet again with the P5+1 countries on February 18 in Vienna for a final and comprehensive meeting.
