Athens is "happy" after Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras returned from holding talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin as pressure grows on Greece to meet the demands of its creditors, Greek officials have said.
Government spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis told private Greek TV channel Mega on Tuesday that Athens' demand for WWII reparations from Germany were discussed along with the "plight" of the Greek people under "austerity" measures imposed by lenders.
Sakellaridis said: "We are coming back happy from Berlin because Mr. Tsipras above all posed a number of issues to Ms Merkel and to the German people.
"The issues that Mr Tsipras raised Monday proved that he went to Germany to present the Greek government’s positions."

He added the Greek prime minister has made clear "the social conditions in Greece over the last five years -- he basically spoke of a policy that has not helped, neither on a macroeconomic, nor a social level."
Sakellaridis said the pair had discussed the outline of reforms in Greece and not a specific list, without providing details.
"There was a discussion on a level which was not that profound and specific, since this was not the aim of the meeting. This is not the level on which reforms will be presented," he said.
Sakellaridis stated a "communication channel between the German Chancellor and the Greek premier has been restored" and added "common points of reference in relation to Greece’s reform program have been found."
