Syria’s Interior Ministry said Tuesday that internal security forces have taken control and started restoring order at Al-Hol camp in eastern Hasakah, after the area was secured by the Syrian Army.

In a statement carried by SANA news agency, the ministry said the move came after the SDF withdrew and “left the camp without any guard,” describing the step as “an attempt to create chaos and allow those inside the camp to flee.”

Earlier, the ministry accused the group of releasing ISIS (Daesh) detainees and their families from prisons and withdrawing from guarding the camp without coordination with the government or the US-led international coalition.

Early Tuesday, the Syrian presidency said that a “mutual understanding” has been reached with the SDF regarding the future of the eastern Hasakah province as of 8 pm local time (1700GMT).

Under the deal, the SDF was given “four days for consultations” to prepare “a detailed plan for practical integration of the areas,” the presidency said in a statement.
